Families Worker Recruitment

St Aidan's Church, Ernesettle are looking to recruit a Families Worker with a focus on working with children.

Part time, long term contract with a salary of £18,000 - £24,000 pro-rata depending on experience.

Responsible For : Supporting, enabling and assisting with all aspects of mission and evangelism at St Aidan’s, Ernesettle, with a particular emphasis on seeing our mission and evangelism thrive among children and young people in the local community.

Working Week : The working week of the successful applicant will consist of 20-hours a week. Hours of working will be 9.00am – 6.00pm on Wednesday and 9.00am - 1.00pm on Sunday, plus one and a half other days or three half-days as appropriate

Role Purpose : This is a fantastic opportunity to take a key role in helping to shape our mission and evangelism among children and young people. It is envisioned that the role will develop and be shaped as the church continues to establish its presence within the local community.

As a key member of the team, it is expected that you will work closely with the church leader and other key ministry leads, and that together you would take an integral role in developing and shaping the life of the church, focusing on mission and evangelism among young people.

The key dimensions of the role will include:

  • Running the Sunday morning children’s program in a safe, well-ordered and stimulating environment for children to learn about Jesus through biblical teaching, loving relationships, prayer, worship, reflection, creativity, physical activity and fun.
  • Support and encourage children to grow in their faith, knowledge of the bible, understanding of being a disciple of Jesus, awareness and capacity to live a Spirit-led life, and to become active members of their local church family.
  • Work with current volunteers and raise up and regularly integrate new volunteers into the children's team.
  • To run outreach in local schools and community programs including school assemblies, a parent and toddler group and an after-school club.

To help in organising periodic events such as an Easter Party, Light Party and school holiday Fun Days.
