Dementia Friendly Churches
Let's change the conversation about dementia, reduce stigma and embarrassment and assure people living with dementia that they are an important part of our church families. Transforming Plymouth Together can advise on adaptations to make buildings and services more accessible, suitable and welcoming for everyone.
Over the last few years TPT have hosted Dementia Friendly Carol Services, which welcome everyone but aimed especially for people living with, and caring for, and experiencing dementia. We are grateful to have worked with many other local agencies who offer support in this area including Memory Matters, Age UK, Plymouth University, Coop and the Plymouth Dementia Action Alliance.
We are also extremely grateful to St Paul's Church in Stonehouse for hosting this event each year, and to Plymouth City Council who assist visitors with free nearby parking during the service time.
