Places of Welcome
Throughout Plymouth churches, charities and community spaces are opening up their buildings to provide warm and welcoming spaces with their communities.
Transforming Plymouth Together are the local lead for the Places of Welcome Network.
Each registered space offers:
- Place - An accessible and hospitable building, open at the same time every week
- People - Open to everyone regardless of their circumstances or situation, and staffed by volunteers
- Presence - A place where people actively listen to one another
- Provision - Offering free refreshments (at least a cup of tea and a biscuit) and basic local information
- Participation - Every person will bring talents, experiences and skills that they may be willing to share locally
If your church offers a space like this where everyone is welcomed and respected, why not join the network and increase your visibility to your community whilst also receiving free resources and advice (there's no need to to change the name or advertising for your church).
It only takes moments to register but could create a lasting change in your community.
