Strategic Food Security
TPT work closely with the organisations, charities and agencies seeking to tackle food poverty and inequality across Plymouth. As a collective this group are in the process of setting up a Food Aid Alliance which will lead to a citywide strategic plan to provide consistent, sustainable and appropriate food support across local communities. This alliance includes Transforming Plymouth Together, Plymouth City Council, Four Greens Community Trust, Devon & Cornwall Food Action, Food Plymouth, Trussell Trust and Independent Food Aid Network, Tamar Grow Local and the Plymouth Food Aid Network.
Food Systems Equality (FoodSequal)
Transforming Plymouth Together are grateful to be taking part in the FoodSequal research project in 2023. Details to follow.
The Aid Redistribution Centre (ARC)
TPT oversaw the Aid Redistribution Centre in 2022 when the projects co-founder became the Strategic Lead Officer at TPT, and because the aims of the project aligned with charity's mission. Whilst the warehouse facility has now closed, this project had a tremendous impact on Plymouth during the Coronavirus Pandemic. The ARC Manager is now the Food Security Adviser at TPT and a valued and knowledgeable member of the staff team.
(The ARC logo, name and food sharing mission continues with Carl Williams who was also a co-founder of the project and can be contacted at admin@thearcplymouth.co.uk)
